All rates are in NZ$ per day and include unlimited km, GST (local tax), insurance, "Holiday Rewards Card" with discounts to tourist attractions, "Travel Wallet" including road maps
Depots: Auckland, Christchurch and Queenstown
Minimum rental period:
Minimum rental period is 3 days.
Minimum rental period 10 days for hires between 23 December 2008 and 10 January 2009.
Minimum rental period 10 days for hires between Auckland and Christchurch or Queenstown
from 09 October 2008 to 28 February 2009.
Minimum rental period is subject to change during peak periods.
One - Way Rentals: 10 days for one way hires from 01 December - 29 February
An airport concession fee of NZ$ 20 will apply for all hires that pick up at Queenstown airport.
Bond/Excess: NZ$ 1000 which can be paid by credit cards upon pick up. Backpacker will debit the amount from your card immediately. A 1.5% surcharge will apply to all credit card transactions.
This excess can be reduced, in most circumstances, by the purchase of the Excess Reduction Option.
Additional insurance options:
Excess Reduction Option: NZ$ 12 per day to reduce the excess to NZ$ 220.

Premium Cover Option (PCO): Where PCO is taken out at a flat rate of NZ$40 per rental in addition to the Excess Reduction Option, the hirer will not to pay any any excess at all for any damage to the vehicle or property of a third party.
Age restrictions and drivers licence: Drivers must be 21 years of age or over and a national drivers licence is to be presented at the time of rental. If the licence is not in English format, an international drivers licence is also required.

Extras:
child/booster seat: NZ$ 25 per rental
Tent (4 persons): NZ$ 75 per rental
Camping equipment: NZ$ 20 per day (max. fee: NZ$ 200 for 2 persons)
Mobil phones: on request*
First Aid Kit: NZ$ 39 per kit
Snow chains: free

*Note: There is no hire fee for a mobile phone - you only have to pay for your calls
Cars and car groups are subject to availability and may vary by location. Bookings can only be accepted by car group, not specific make, model or colour. Baby/Booster seats can be fitted in all Rental Cars
