| Flex pricing allows us to offer total Flexible pricing which
gives you the opportunity to secure the best possible rental rate at
the date of booking. The Flex rates are set on a very simple system
of supply and demand. So, when there are a large number of vehicles
available for hire the rental rate is lower. This way you, as the
customer, can benefit from the lower rates offered. Generally, this
means that the earlier you book the more you save! |
It is important to understand that the Flex rate may vary depending
on:
• Time of booking
• Date of Pick-up (when you collect your vehicle)
• City of Pick-up (where you collect your vehicle)
• Your choice of vehicle

All rates are in NZ$ per calendar day and include unlimited km, GST (local tax), insurance, nationwide road side
service and free phone helpline, Travel Wallet including road maps, free
mountain bike hire at selected Top Ten Holiday Parks, Airport transfer
on upon vehicle collection and return (except Wellington).
Britz Campervans are supplied
with a kitchen kit but personal kits are purchased in addition to the
daily hire rate if you wish (see additional equipment).

Vehicle collections and returns in Wellington and Queenstown incur a NZ$ 200 location
fee. This is in addition to the
one-way fee if applicable.

Bond/Excess/Insurance:
All vehicles are insured for the damage to the vehicle or to the property of a Third Party. The hirer is responsible for the first NZ$7,500 (“the excess”) or NZ$1,800 (“the excess” in the case of the rented vehicle being the Britz Rookie) of the cost of damage to Third party property or to the rented vehicle, including single vehicle accident, windscreen and tyre damage, towing and recovery costs, theft, fire, break-in or vandalism with the exception of the ‘exclusions’. This also includes the cost of the daily rental for the period the vehicle is off fleet for accident repairs.
The excess is applicable regardless of who is at fault and must be paid at the time the accident report is completed, not at the completion of the rental. The excess will be refunded if Britz is successful in recovering the cost of the damages from the Third Party.
The excess applies in respect of each claim, not rental.
Britz will debit the amount
from your card immediately.
A 1.5% surcharge will apply to all credit card transactions.

When Excess Reduction 2 has been purchased, the hirer will have no excess at all for 2WD vehicles with the exception of the ‘exclusions’.
In the event of the vehicle hired being a 4WD the hirer will be responsible for the first NZ$440 (“the excess”) of the cost of damage to Third Party property or to the rented vehicle. This includes single vehicle accident, windscreen and tyre damage, towing and recovery costs, theft, fire, break-in or vandalism with the exception of the ‘exclusions’. This also includes the cost of the daily rental for the period the vehicle is off fleet for accident repairs. The excess applies in respect of each claim, not rental.
No Worries Cover (PCO2) The no worries cover option is
a one off fee of NZ$50 per hire. The no worries cover option is only
available when excess reduction 2 has been purchased.
Note the no worries cover option is included in the Britz bonus pack.
With the no worries cover option, the hirer will not have to pay any
excess at all for any damage to the
vehicle or property of a third party with the exception of the
‘exclusions’. This will include accidental
overhead or underbody damage to the vehicle. Please note overhead and
underbody damage cover is
excluded unless the no worries cover option has been purchased.
TYRE AND WINDSCREEN DAMAGE – Where the hire has a nil excess up to one
windscreen and two tyres
will be covered for accidental damage. Should these amounts be exceeded
the cost to repair or replace the items will not be covered and will be
the responsibility of the hirer.
All debited bonds (plus any other credit card transactions) are subject
to a 1.5% credit card surcharge in addition to the bond amount. This
surcharge is refunded when the bond is refunded. If a bond is retained
the surcharge is retained.

The Britz bonus pack for campervan rentals is NZ$ 53 per day
(maximum charge of NZ$ 2650 per
rental) and is in addition to the daily gross vehicle rate.

• 1 x linen and bedding kit per person
• Extra driver fees
• Pre-Purchase Gas (PGO)

- Minimum rental period:
Minimum rental period is 5 days.
Minimum rental period 10 days for hires between 23 December 2008 and
10 January 2009.
Minimum rental period 10 days for hires between Auckland and
Christchurch or Queenstown
from 09 October 2008 to 28 February 2009.
Minimum rental period is subject to change during peak
periods.
- Diesel tax recovery fee:
The fee will be calculated and
collected on return of your vehicle based on the kilometres travelled
during your hire. Rates are subject to Government changes.

- Extra driver fee:
An additional driver fee of NZ$ 3 per day (maximum charge NZ$ 150)
applies per additional driver.

- One way rentals:
(Does not apply to the Rookie)
• One-way rentals are available between all branch locations.
• A one-way rental fee of NZ$ 220 is charged for rentals between the North and South Islands and vice versa, where pick-up is between 01 October and 31 March.
• The one-way fee if applicable is charged per hire.
Vehicle collections and returns in Wellington and Queenstown incur a NZ$ 200 location
fee. This is in addition to the

- Age restrictions and drivers licence:
Drivers must be 21 years of age or over and a national drivers licence is
to be presented at the time of rental. If the licence is not in English
format, an international drivers licence is also required.
