Before you are making a booking you should read and understand our terms and conditions and be aware of the cancellation policy.
Touring New Zealand Ltd is an agent for a variety of campervan, motorhome and car rental operators. Cancellation policies and terms and conditions vary from each operator and must be understood and agreed to before you make a booking.
Your credit card will not be charged until you have received our booking confirmation and the vehicle is confirmed as available.
Once a booking has been confirmed and a deposit paid the booking is considered live and is subject to the cancellation policy of Touring New Zealand Ltd and the operator the vehicle is booked with.
We will proceed with your booking as per your request (subject to availability) and send you your booking confirmation within 24 hours.
If, for some reason, the vehicle is not available we will get back to you with alternative offers for vehicles still available for your dates.
In this case you can then decide if you would like to proceed with a booking for a different vehicle than originally requested.
Your credit card will not be charged until your booking is confirmed and you have received our booking confirmation.
Booking confirmation will be sent to the e-mail address you provided.
Upon receipt of this booking confirmation a deposit of about 10-20% is due to confirm the booking.
The balance is due either 30 days prior to commencement of the hire or on arrival (depending on the vehicle and operator you chose).
You will be issued with a travel voucher containing all information you need to know. This voucher is sent to you by e-mail and must be presented upon pick up of the vehicle.
All booking requests are subject to availability. Once availability has been confirmed and the booking confirmed by paying the deposit, then the deposit becomes non-refundable.
Cancellations and booking amendments
All amendments to bookings are subject to availability. Different rates may apply based on the amendment made.
Touring New Zealand does not charge administration fees to make booking amendments, however the vehicle operator may have price variances that must be paid by the customer.
Cancellations or booking amendments must be made in writing by e-mail to Touring New Zealand. Cancellation policies of Touring New Zealand and the rental company apply. Cancellation Policies of each rental company are clearly stated on our websites and must be agreed to at the time of booking.
The deposit, with which the booking was confirmed with, is non-refundable when a confirmed booking is cancelled. Any cancellation fees that occur through a cancellation applied by the rental company will be processed on your credit card by Touring New Zealand.
Vehicle Category
Vehicles can not be requested by make or model, only by vehicle category.

All rates and conditions are subject to change as required and without prior notification by the rental company.
How I make a payment?
We accept Mastercard and Visa and do NOT charge credit card fees.
Calculation Errors
Touring New Zealand will not honour calculation errors. Should a calculation error occur Touring New Zealand will charge for the shortfall.
Do I need a special licence to drive?
Absolutely not! A current and full motor vehicle driver’s licence is required and must be produced upon vehicle collection. Should a foreign licence be in a language other than English, it must be accompanied by a current international driving permit issued in the same country as the driver’s licence was issued. An accredited English translation will be accepted in lieu of an international driving permit.
Where can I stay in our Motorhome?
New Zealand has an extensive network of holiday parks in all major tourist centres and in most towns. We recommend all holiday parks and campgrounds which have a Qualmark Rating. They offer excellent recreational facilities, as well as resources to dispose of your waste water. They also have provision for you to plug your vehicle into 240vs main power for vehicles that feature heating and/or microwave.
Are there any roads that I cannot drive on?
Rental vehicles can only be driven on sealed/bitumen or well-maintained roads. No vehicle shall be driven on Skippers Road (Queenstown), Ninety Mile Beach (Northland), Ball Hut Road (Mt. Cook), Bluff Road that runs between Kuatunu and Mataurangi and North of Colville Township (Coromandel Peninsula). The rental companies reserves the right at its sole discretion to restrict vehicle movements in certain areas due to adverse road or weather conditions.
What happens if I return my vehicle early?
If you return your rental vehicle earlier than expected there is no refund. If you have to go home because of an emergency your own personal travel insurance should cover this.
What is Diesel Tax Recovery?
It is a government tax and is calculated and collected on return of your vehicle. The rates are subject to government changes.
Rental Agreement
When the rental vehicle has been collected, and the rental agreement contract between the hirer and the rental company has been signed, the Terms and Conditions contained within that contract apply in full.
Infringements
The rental companies reserve the right to charge the hirer for any speeding or parking fines, associated administration costs and/or accidents including Third Party property damage not reported on return of the vehicle.
Do I need a travel insurance?
In New Zealand personal injury is covered by the Accident Compensation Commission (ACC), however Touring New Zealand Ltd. strongly recommends that all clients take adequate Travel Insurance which may cover you for cancellation fees in certain circumstances.
Do you have a privacy policy?
Any information supplied to Touring New Zealand Ltd. will not be passed on to any other 3rd party. You have the right under New Zealand Privacy law to view and correct any information we hold about you.

We make every effort to keep all information on our website up to date but can not guarantee that the rates and terms and conditions are not modified by the operators as they reserve the right to do so at any time.
Any failure of a campervan or car rental company to provide the vehicle they confirmed as being reserved is entirely the responsibility of that rental company. Every endeavor will be made by the rental company to provide an equivalent or better vehicle as set out in their Terms and Conditions. Touring New Zealand accepts no responsibility for this or for any situation where a reserved vehicle is unavailable. |
