Maui New Zealand campervans and motorhomes can be hired from Auckland,
Christchurch and Queenstown. On request it is also possible to
rent a campervan
from and to Wellington for an additional fee (subject to
availability).

The Spirit 4 (4BM) can be booked with an automatic transmission. There
is a surcharge of NZ$10 per day in addition to the daily rental rate of
the vehicle if a guarantee of an automatic is required in this category.

- All
rates are in NZ$ per calendar day and include unlimited km, GST (local
tax), vehicle insurance, extra driver fee, Kitchen Kit
and Personal Kit, Travel Wallet including road
maps, free mountain bike hire available at selected Top Ten Holiday
Parks, Airport transfer on upon vehicle collection
and return (except Wellington).
- Depots: Auckland, Christchurch and Queenstown

Vehicle collections and returns in Wellington and Queenstown incur a NZ$ 200 location fee (same city collection and return, one fee applies). This is in addition to the one-way fee if applicable.
- Bond/Excess/Insuance:
All vehicles are insured for damage to the vehicle or to the property of a Third Party. The hirer is responsible for the first NZ 7500 of the cost of damage to Third Party property or to the rented vehicle, including single vehicle accident, windscreen and tyre damage, towing and recovery costs, theft, fire, break-in or vandalism with the exception of the ‘exclusions’. This also includes the cost of the daily rental for the period the vehicle is off fleet for accident repairs.
The excess is applicable regardless of who is at fault and must be paid at the time the accident report is completed, not at the completion of the rental. The excess will be refunded if Maui is successful in recovering the cost of the damages from the Third Party.
The excess applies in respect of each claim, not rental.
Maui will debit the amount
from your card immediately.
A 1.5% surcharge will apply to all credit card transactions.
- The Maui premium package
If you take the Maui Premium Package of NZ$50 per day (maximum NZ$2,500 per rental), it is payable in addition to the daily rental rate and includes:
• Excess reduction option 2 (Nil excess)
• No Worries Cover (PCO2 - extends cover for accidental damage to include overhead and underbody)
• Diesel Tax Recovery Fee
• Pre-Purchase Gas (PGO)
• Picnic table and chairs (chairs per person travelling)
• 1 x child or booster seat if required
Credit Card Fees and a Security Deposit may apply.
- Additional insurance and excess options:
Excess reduction option 1:
NZ$ 20 (maximum charge NZ$ 1000)
per day to reduce the excess to NZ$ 2500.
The hirer is responsible for the first NZ$2,500 (“the excess”) of
the cost of damage to third party property or to the rented vehicle.
This includes single vehicle accident, windscreen and tyre damage,
towing and recovery costs, theft, fire, break-in or vandalism
with the exception of the ‘exclusions’.
Excess reduction option 2:
NZ$ 38
(maximum charge NZ$ 1900) per day to reduce the excess to nil.
The hirer will not have to pay any excess at
all for any damage to the vehicle or property of a third party with the
exception of the ‘exclusions’.
Note: Excess Reduction Option 2 is included in the Maui Premium Package
Please see the ‘exclusions’ section below, whereby all insurance cover
will be made void.
No Worries Cover Option (PCO2)
The no worries cover option is a one off fee of NZ$50 per hire. The no
worries cover option is only available when
excess reduction 2 has been purchased.
Note the no worries cover option is included in the Maui premium
package.
The no worries cover option extends the cover available with excess
reduction 2 to include cover for accidental
damage to the overhead and underbody sections of the motorhome.
Please note overhead and underbody damage cover is excluded unless the
no worries cover option has been purchased.
- Minimum rental period:
Minimum rental period is 5 days.
Minimum rental period 10 days for hires between 23 December 2008 and
10 January 2009.
Minimum rental period 10 days for hires between Auckland and
Christchurch or Queenstown
from 09 October 2008 to 28 February 2009.
Minimum rental period is subject to change during peak
periods.
- Diesel tax recovery fee:
The fee will be calculated and collected on return of your vehicle based
on the kilometres travelled during your hire. Rates are subject to
Government changes.

- One way rentals:
A one-way rental fee of NZ$ 220 is charged for rentals between the North and South Island and vice
versa, where pick-up is between 01 October 2008 and 31 March 2009.
- Age restrictions and drivers licence: Drivers must be 21 years of age or over and a national drivers licence is
to be presented at the time of rental. If the licence is not in English
format, an international drivers licence is also required.
- 24 hours nationwide road side service
- Additional equipment:
Picnic table: NZ$ 22 per rental
Picnic chair: NZ$ 12 per rental
Child/booster seat: NZ$ 25 per rental
Tent (4 persons): NZ$ 75 per rental
Camping Pack: NZ$ 20 per day (max. fee: NZ$ 200 for 2 persons)
