- Minimum rental period:
Minimum rental period is 3 days.
Minimum rental period is subject to change during peak
periods.
- One - Way Rentals: No additional one-way fees apply.
- Bond/Excess/Insurance: All vehicles
are insured for the damage to the vehicle or to the property of a third
party. The hirer is responsible for the first
NZ$1,800 (“the excess”) of the cost of damage to third party property or
to the rented vehicle, including single
vehicle accident, windscreen and tyre damage, towing and recovery costs,
theft, fire, break-in or vandalism with the
exception of the ‘exclusions’. This also includes the cost of the daily
rental for the period the vehicle is off fleet
for accident repairs.
The excess is applicable regardless of who is at fault and must be paid
at the time the accident report is completed, not at the completion of the rental. The excess will be
refunded if Maui is successful in recovering
the cost of the damages from the third party. Please note that third
party claims can take months to resolve. The
excess applies in respect of each claim, not rental.
Should the bond be paid by credit card, Maui will debit the amount
from your card immediately.
- Additional insurance options:
Excess Reduction Option:
NZ$ 20 per day
(Maximum NZ$ 600) to reduce the excess to NZ$ 0.
A NZ$ 220 security deposit is still required as an imprint of the credit card.
With the Excess Reduction Option the hirer is responsible for the first NZ$220 of ANY ACCIDENT COST of damage to Third Party property or to the rented vehicle, including single vehicle accident, towing and recovery costs, theft, fire, break in or vandalism. This also includes the cost of the daily rental rate for the period the vehicle is off fleet for accident repairs. The excess applies in respect of each claim, not rental.
- Age restrictions and drivers licence: Drivers must be 21 years of age or over and a national drivers licence is
to be presented at the time of rental. If the licence is not in English
format, an international drivers licence is also required.
- 24 hours nationwide road side service
- Extras:
Child/booster seat: NZ$ 25 per rental
Tent (4 persons): NZ$ 65 per rental
GPS System: NZ$ 9 per day - maximum of NZ$ 90 per rental
Camping equipment: NZ$ 20 per day (max. fee: NZ$ 200 for 2 persons)
