- Minimum rental period: 5 days
- One Way Hires: You can start your hire in Auckland and finish
in Christchurch (or vice versa) at no extra charge if the hire period is
a minimum of 14 days.
- Age restrictions and drivers licence:
Drivers must be 18 years of age and a valid national
drivers licence or an international drivers licence will be accepted.
- 24 hours nationwide road side service
- Bond/Excess/Insurance:
You are fully insured in case of an accident or loss of contents (this excludes your personal belongings) for damage to the vehicle or to the property of a Third Party. The hirer is responsible for the excess (bond) of NZ$ 1000 for drivers 25 and over, or NZ$ 1500 for drivers 21 -24 and NZ$ 2000 for drivers 18 – 20 years old. This covers the cost of damage to Third Party property or to the rented vehicle, including single vehicle accident, towing and recovery costs, theft of the vehicle, fire, break in or vandalism. The insurance excludes items belonging to the hirer, damage to the roof and under-body of the vehicle, and damage to the tyres and glass.
- Additional insurance option:
An option to reduce your excess is to pay a non-refundable Full or Half cover option. This will reduce the bond and is on a per incident basis.
Full or Half Cover does not cover a single vehicle accident, articles, appliances, the roof top pod and fixtures inside the Spaceship unless in the case of an accident with another vehicle. A credit card imprint is required on all rental agreements (even with a bond waiver – this covers deliberate damage, late returns and traffic infringements)
DRIVERS 25 AND OLDER
CDW2: NZ$ 20 per day = Full Cover with no bond / excess (maximum collectable insurance is NZ$ 600)
CDW1: NZ$ 10 per day = Half Cover with a NZ$ 500 bond / excess
DRIVERS AGED 21 -24
CDW2: NZ$ 26 per day = Full cover with no bond / excess (maximum collectable insurance is NZ$ 700)
CDW1: NZ$ 16 per day = Half cover with a NZ$ 750 bond / excess
DRIVERS AGED 18 -20
CDW2: NZ$ 33 per day = Full cover with no bond / excess (maximum collectable insurance is NZ$ 1000)
CDW1: NZ$ 23 per day = Half cover with a NZ$ 1000 bond / excess
Windscreen damage is not covered by the standard hire insurance but is included in the Full and Half cover options. An additional non-refundable premium of $5.00 per hire day will cover you for the loss or breakage of the front windscreen. This cover EXCLUDES the sunroof and all other glass windows and mirrors.
4 BERTH INSURANCE EXCESS
If you are hiring a roof top pod (4 berth Spaceship) there is an additional excess of $1000 to cover any potential damage to the roof top pod. This excess is fixed, applies to all ages groups and cannot be reduced.
