All Travelpasses include a combination of travel by coach, ferry, rail and air. Here is some information about the transport providers (depending on which Travelpass you have purchased).

All Travelpasses include travel by coach, using InterCity Coachlines and Newmans Coach Lines, New Zealand's only national land transport network.

2-in-One, 3-in-One and 4-in-One Travelpasses include a Cook Strait ferry crossing
The Interislander Cook Strait Ferry operates Between Wellington and Picton or vice versa.

3-in-One and 4-in-One Travelpasses include train travel
Holders of 3-in-One and 4-in-One Travelpasses have the choice of one of the following rail journeys:
  • The TranzAlpine daily between Christchurch and Greymouth or vice versa
  • The Tranz Coastal daily between Christchurch and Picton or vice versa
  • The Overlander daily between Wellington and Auckland or vice versa.
Note: A "rail journey" = a one-way trip. If you wish to book a return trip (i.e. Christchurch - Greymouth - Christchurch) this = two rail journeys.
